Our 8th Annual One Act Festival is just around the corner! We are once again looking for local playwrights who would like to submit original work to be considered for production by the Cedar Springs Community Players. We are able to choose up to six plays for our festival this year, and we would love to fill all of those spots with locally written pieces. These could be shows written or performed by kids, adults, or both.
This year, we’d like to choose shows that fit our Mystery Theater theme. They could be comedies or dramas – we’re just looking for something with a twist!
If you would like to submit a play for consideration, please make sure that it is:
- Family friendly – please do not include profanity or explicitly sexual content or characters.
- Under 15 minutes in length.
- Able to be produced with minimal set and furniture pieces. We perform these shows in a black box setting.
- Able to be performed by 8 actors maximum.
To submit a piece, email a PDF copy along with your contact information to CSCommunityPlayers@gmail.com by November 14, 2025. We will have our final selection completed before Thanksgiving.
The One Act Festival will start rehearsals right after New Years and will perform at the Kent Theater in Cedar Springs the first weekend of March 2026.
